Established in June 1997, The Kalavant Center for Music and Dance is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to promoting and preserving traditional music and dance of South Asia, with a special emphasis on Indian classical music.

Pankaj Kumar Choudhury
Pankaj Kumar Choudhury is an A graded artiste of All India Radio and TV and has given performances in the National Programme of music. He has attended numerous music conferences in India and ccompanied eminent musicians like late Pandit Jagdish Prasad, Vidushi Sulochana Brihaspati, Pandit

Rashmi Choudhury
Rashmi Choudhury is an A grade artiste of All India Radio and has given performances both for AIR and Doordarshan. She presently works at the All India Radio, Lucknow as Station Director. Rashmi Choudhury’s consist of melodies, attractive aalaps, variation of tans, and a lot more. She can sing the Sarg/Swar with all three saptaks (octaves).

Ustad Ilmas Hussain Khan
Ustad Ilmas Hussain Khan received training from his father, Ustad Afaque Hussain Khan, and grandfather, Ustad Wajid Hussain Khan, at the age of 7. He pursued Sangeet Prabhakar & Sangeet Praveen from Prayag Sangeet Samiti. He received honours Taal-Mani in 1982, Rashtriya Yuva in 1986 and is a top-grade artist on All India Radio.

Smit Tewari
At the age of five, Nainital-based Smit Tewari started learning dhrupad and tabla from his mother Chhaya Tiwari. He has been learning the sarod for the last 12 years, first from his father Chandra Shekhar Tiwari and, since the age of nine, from Suprahat Pal of the Maihar gharana.

Dr. Devendra Verma
Dr. Devendra Verma “Brajrang” is a noted artist, musicologist and writer of India. He excels in Vocal, Tabla and Kathak dance, representing the Gwalior tradition of Vocal and Tabla/Pakhawaj.

Asif Khan
Gifted with a melodious voice, Asif Khan has performed at college youth festivals, competitions, and many private musical events. After completing his Master's in Music, he taught music at Global International Indian School at Ahmedabad in India.

We offer classes in all sorts of music with a traditional South Asian touch. We do individual classes and group classes. We accommodate all kinds of students of all ages and skill levels. We believe that no two students are the same, and with that logic we do out best in tailoring one’s learning experience with their specific needs.
